I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been going through a phase all week. I keep reading scary stories. I felt like I need a good scare but now I can't sleep at night. XP
It's actually great inspiration! I think it makes my story much more realistic when you have a few creepy things in there. Great now I feel like writing scary
This is a true story by the way, it happened when I was around five.
Ready? Here it goes!
My cousin Joanna had barely moved into a new home and it was her birthday so there was a birthday party. Everyone was outside except all the younger kids. After we ate cake and had bags full of candy after perishing the piñata, we decided to play a game of hide-and-go-seek. There was at least ten of us, Joanna was the seeker. Luckily it was a two story house with a lot of fun places two hide behind. Our rules were simple of coarse, who doesn't know the game Hide-and-go-seek?
1. You count to 30
2. No cheating
3. You must NEVER hide in the closet of the back room. We were forbidden.
I remember hiding under the bed when my cousin found me. All of us were found except Geo, the youngest. Then we all started looking for him. We stopped until we heard loud shrieking coming from the back room. The noise led us to the closet. my cousin Geo was locked inside, sobbing and begging to be let out, but no matter what we did the door wouldn't budge.
"LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!!!" he started sounding more frantic now, practically screaming. One of my cousin ran to get an adult. By now we were all getting scared. We couldn't calm him down.
Suddenly the screaming stopped. We heard angry footsteps descending down the stairs. It was Geo. He stood there with an annoyed expression on his face. He looked completely fine.
"What's taking you all so long?! I've been waiting for two hours!" Actually it was only 20 minutes but to a child 20 minutes felt like 2 hours. We were all to confused and shocked to say anything. My cousin went to open the closet door one last time. It opened with ease.
There was no one inside.
